Essentially a two-row version of the CX-90, the CX-70 offers similar dimensions, performance, and refinement without the third row of seats.
Powertrains and Performance
The CX-70 offers two versions of a 3.3-liter turbocharged inline-six engine. The base engine generates 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, while the Turbo S variant delivers an impressive 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both engines ensure smooth operation and responsive acceleration, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that predominantly powers the rear wheels. This setup provides a balanced, engaging driving experience with firm yet comfortable ride quality.
Additionally, a plug-in hybrid variant is available, combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a 68-kilowatt electric motor. This setup produces 323 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, capable of up to 26 miles of electric-only range.
